XML Signature - Benefits

Benefits

XML Signature is more flexible than other forms of digital signatures such as Pretty Good Privacy and Cryptographic Message Syntax, because it does not operate on binary data, but on the XML Infoset, allowing to work on subsets of the data, having various ways to bind the signature and signed information, and perform transformations. Another core concept is canonicalization, that is to sign only the "essence", eliminating meaningless differences like whitespace and line endings.

Famous quotes containing the word benefits:

It is too late in the century for women who have received the benefits of co-education in schools and colleges, and who bear their full share in the world’s work, not to care who make the laws, who expound and who administer them.
    J. Ellen Foster (1840–1910)

In America the young are always ready to give to those who are older than themselves the full benefits of their inexperience.
    Oscar Wilde (1854–1900)

It is with benefits as with injuries in this respect, that we do not so much weigh the accidental good or evil they do us, as that which they were designed to do us.—That is, we consider no part of them so much as their intention.
    Laurence Sterne (1713–1768)
