There are approximately 2,000 full-time 16-18 year-old students and 140 teaching staff. More than 40 subjects are offered at A Level. Somewhat against the national trend Mathematics and Sciences account for more than a third of enrolments.
Wyggeston and Queen Elizabeth I College (WQEIC) is a sixth form college located in the city of Leicester in the East Midlands. It was awarded Learning and Skills Beacon Status in April 2003.
