Famous quotes containing the words world and/or square:
“The world is the house of the strong. I shall not know until the end what I have lost or won in this place, in this vast gambling den where I have spent more than sixty years, dicebox in hand, shaking the dice.”
—Denis Diderot (1713–1784)
“I walked by the Union Square Bar, I was gonna go in. And I saw myself, my reflection in the window. And I thought, “I wonder who that bum is.” And then I saw it was me. Now look at me, I’m a bum. Look at me. Look at you. You’re a bum.”
—J.P. (James Pinckney)
