William of Poitiers (c. 1020–1090) was a Frenchman of Norman origin and chaplain of Duke William of Normandy (William the Conqueror) (Guillaume le Conquerant), from whom he chronicled the Norman Conquest of England in his Gesta Guillelmi II ducis Normannorum. Also a norman knight.
