Wild Rivers (water Park) - The Infamous Edge and Ledge

The Infamous Edge and Ledge

The Edge and Ledge, or The Liquidator, one of the scariest water rides in Orange County, was eventually closed a few years ago due to injuries. There are rumors that have been spread about how someone over the weight limit got stuck on the ride, but this is deemed not true. One of the biggest problems was that the large drop at the end of the ride had many people hitting the top of the slide, as their velocity when sliding to the curve was much too fast to stay on the bottom. Therefore, many injuries occurred, the slide started to get less popular, and the left slide was closed down, and the right slide followed soon after. The Edge and Ledge was supposed to be re-opened, but after Wild Rivers started to get one-year leases, they felt there was no point in fixing a ride that might be demolished the next season. This ride was never demolished while the park was open and was inside the park until the park's closing in 2011. This ride was probably the most popular, and therefore when it closed down other rides' lines got much longer.

Famous quotes containing the words infamous, edge and/or ledge:

The principal office of history I take to be this: to prevent virtuous actions from being forgotten, and that evil words and deeds should fear an infamous reputation with posterity.
    Tacitus (c. 55–c. 120)

when it comes to my death let it be slow,
let it be pantomime, this last peep show,
so that I may squat at the edge trying on
    my black necessary trousseau.
    Anne Sexton (1928–1974)

Summer involves going down as a steep flight of steps
To a narrow ledge over the water. Is this it, then,
This iron comfort, these reasonable taboos,
Or did you mean it when you stopped? And the face
Resembles yours, the one reflected in the water.
    John Ashbery (b. 1927)
