Wikipedia:New Pages Patrol

New pages patrol is a process by which newly created articles are checked for obvious problems. The patrol is entirely voluntary and carries no obligation. At its heart, it's really just a way to see that every page gets checked in a timely manner and is given a boost on its way to becoming a quality article, and that Wikipedia is not deluged with poor-quality articles and totally inappropriate pages.

Wikipedia puts powerful editing tools at the hands of all readers and users. New Page Patrol is our first line of defense against unwanted pages or for improvement of poorly written or constructed pages and it must be done accurately.

Famous quotes containing the word pages:

Mathematics may be compared to a mill of exquisite workmanship, which grinds your stuff of any degree of fineness; but nevertheless, what you get out depends upon what you put in; and as the grandest mill in the world will not extract wheat- flour from peascods, so pages of formulae will not get a definite result out of loose data.
    Thomas Henry Huxley (1825–95)
