Post-Whose Line
When the UK version ended in 1998, many of the performers, such as Stephen Frost and Mike McShane, began performing with The Comedy Store Players and remain performing to date. Paul Merton resumed his role as team captain on Have I Got News For You. Host Clive Anderson resumed his chat show Clive Anderson All Talk until 2001 and appeared on QI, which is hosted by Stephen Fry. Most of the North American performers, including regulars Colin Mochrie and Ryan Stiles, began performing on the U.S. version. Along with them came Greg Proops and Brad Sherwood, who performed in a number of episodes of the British series.
In 2011, Hugh Dennis began to host a similar show, Fast and Loose, which is also produced by Dan Patterson. The show shares its similarities in the games played and its contestants, notably Wayne Brady. The BBC panel show Mock the Week also shares similarities with Whose Line, and in particular features replications of the games "Scenes from a Hat", "Film Dub" and "Dating Service Video". Former presenter Clive Anderson, as well as several panelists, such as Rory Bremner, Sandi Toksvig and Greg Proops have all made appearances on Mock the Week.
The Drew Carey's Improv-A-Ganza show also premièred in 11 April 2011 in another improvisational comedy show featuring Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie, Greg Proops, Brad Sherwood, Jeff Davis and Chip Esten. Unlike Whose Line, this show is filmed at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Instead of Drew Carey hosting and awarding "points", Drew is now a performer and takes part in games, and other performers take turns in "hosting" a game.
ABC will premier a new improv comedy series featuring several of the Whose Line alumni called Trust Us with Your Life on July 10, 2012. Some of the players include Colin Mochrie, Wayne Brady, Greg Proops, Jonathan Mangum, and Nicole Parker.
