Whirlwind (atmospheric Phenomenon) - Associated Weather

Associated Weather

Supercell thunderstorms, other powerful storms, and strong winds are seen with major whirlwinds. Wind storms are commonly seen with minor whirlwinds. Also, small, semi-powerful "wind blasts" may be seen before some minor whirlwinds, which can come from a wind storm. These wind blasts can start to rotate and form minor whirlwinds. Winds from other small storms (such as rain storms and local thunderstorms) can cause minor whirlwinds to form. These minor whirlwinds can be dangerous as well as major whirlwinds.

Famous quotes containing the word weather:

The weather and my mood have little connection. I have my foggy and my fine days within me; my prosperity or misfortune has little to do with the matter.
    Blaise Pascal (1623–1662)

To recover a buried treasure without having it disappear miraculously in the process, one must be entitled to it, and also be willing—really willing deep in his heart—to share it with the poor and helpless. Buried money, especially silver, gives off a bright glow which comes right up through the earth and can be seen as a dim light on nights when the weather is misty or there is a gentle rain.
—Administration in the State of Ariz, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)
