Wildlife Visitor Centres
The flagship Scottish Dolphin Centre is based at the mouth of the River Spey on the southern shore of the Moray Firth on the east coast of Scotland. They also run the Dolphin and Seal Centre along the coast at North Kessock. Both centres are close to Chanonry Point which is reputed to be one of the best spots in the UK to view Bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus) from the land.
WDCS also endorses a commercial eco-tourism travel company called ‘Out of the Blue’ which organises whale and dolphin watching trips around the world. During 2007 they ran 34 trips to over 14 destinations worldwide.

Famous quotes containing the words wildlife, visitor and/or centres:
“Russian forests crash down under the axe, billions of trees are dying, the habitations of animals and birds are layed waste, rivers grow shallow and dry up, marvelous landscapes are disappearing forever.... Man is endowed with creativity in order to multiply that which has been given him; he has not created, but destroyed. There are fewer and fewer forests, rivers are drying up, wildlife has become extinct, the climate is ruined, and the earth is becoming ever poorer and uglier.”
—Anton Pavlovich Chekhov (18601904)
“Beauty is ever to the lonely mind
A shadow fleeting; she is never plain.
She is a visitor who leaves behind
The gift of grief, the souvenir of pain.”
—Robert Nathan (18941985)
“We all haveto put it as nicely as I canour lower centres and our higher centres. Our lower centres act: they act with terrible power that sometimes destroys us; but they dont talk.... Since the war the lower centres have become vocal. And the effect is that of an earthquake. For they speak truths that have never been spoken beforetruths that the makers of our domestic institutions have tried to ignore.”
—George Bernard Shaw (18561950)
