West Nova (French: Nova-Ouest) (formerly South West Nova) is a federal electoral district in Nova Scotia, Canada, that has been represented in the Canadian House of Commons since 1968.
Since October 2008, its Member of Parliament has been Greg Kerr of the Conservative Party.
The district is rural with a few small towns and communities located along the coast. The riding has been called a microcosm of rural Canada because it includes fishing, farming, tourism, small business and an English-French mix.
The riding is noted as having the highest Baptist proportion in Canada at 28%.
The riding tends to have socially conservative views. In the 1990s, Harry Verran was able to win the district as a Liberal in part due to his socially conservative views, including campaigning against same-sex marriage.

Famous quotes containing the words west and/or nova:
“We joined long wagon trains moving south; we met hundreds of wagons going north; the roads east and west were crawling lines of families traveling under canvas, looking for work, for another foothold somewhere on the land.... The country was ruined, the whole world was ruined; nothing like this had ever happened before. There was no hope, but everyone felt the courage of despair.”
—Rose Wilder Lane (18861968)
“Im a Nova Scotia bluenose. Since I was a baby, Ive been watching men look at ships. Its easy to tell the ones they like. Youre only waiting to get her into deep water, arent youbecause shes yours.”
—John Rhodes Sturdy, Canadian screenwriter. Richard Rossen. Joyce Cartwright (Ella Raines)
