Equipment
Werner’s current fleet is made up of the following makes and models: • Freightliner Century • Freightliner Cascadia • Peterbilt 386 and 387 • Kenworth T600, and T660 • International ProStars • Volvo Trucks VNL 670. As fuel and operating costs increased over the years, Werner elected to remove the "long-nose" tractors from their fleet. The Pete 379/389, Kenworth W-900, and the Freightliner Classic were retired from the fleet and were replaced with the more aerodynamic tractors. It is estimated that a tractor burns one gallon of fuel for every hour it is idling. The main color of Werner tractors and trailers is light silver blue. However, since this color has become so synonymous with Werner in the transportation industry, Werner has diversified its colors to assist in tractor resale. The new colors include, but are not limited to: red, black, dark blue, white, and tan. The Werner van and temperature controlled trailer fleet mostly consists of 53' Wabash trailers, while the flatbeds are 48' spread axle trailers.

Famous quotes containing the word equipment:
“Why not draft executive and management brains to prepare and produce the equipment the $21-a-month draftee must use and forget this dollar-a-year tommyrot? Would we send an army into the field under a dollar-a-year General who had to be home Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays?”
—Lyndon Baines Johnson (19081973)
“At the heart of the educational process lies the child. No advances in policy, no acquisition of new equipment have their desired effect unless they are in harmony with the child, unless they are fundamentally acceptable to him.”
—Central Advisory Council for Education. Children and Their Primary Schools (Plowden Report)
“Dr. Scofields equipment, which you have just seen, radiated waves direct to Professor Houghlands laboratory. When these waves came in contact with those the professors equipment was radiating, they created the interstellar frequency, which is the death ray.”
—Joseph ODonnell, and Clifford Sanforth. Arthur Perry (Bela Lugosi)
