Rivalries
Warrington Wolves have had many fierce rivalries throughout the clubs long history. Most notably being against Widnes Vikings which is part of the Cheshire Derby. However, since Widnes have been out of the top flight for a large period of the Super League era the rivalry is not as recongnised as it used to be. This will change from 2012 as the Widnes Vikings were awarded a Super League license meaning the Cheshire Derby will return to the Super League.
Since the start of the Super League the fixtures against St. Helens have become a fierce battle due to the St. Helens holding a hoodoo over the Wolves. Since 1996 the Wolves have only managed 4 league and 1 play off victories over the Saints.
Other rivalries include Wigan and Salford for geographical reasons.
The Warrington and Wigan rivalry has come more significant in the early years of this decade due to both clubs standing at the top of the game.
