Following the September 2012 New South Wales Local Government Elections, a 10 member Council was elected, replacing the council elected in 2008. Michael Regan was re-elected as Mayor while his renamed 'Your Warringah' (From 'Wake Up Warringah') ticket gained a majority of six seats on the council. Apart from Regan, the only other members of the previous council to be re-elected were Independent Councillors De Luca and Giltinan, making up two of the four Independents on the council. On 23 October 2012, Cr. Giltinan was elected as Deputy Mayor.
