Boundaries
Postcode districts W1 and W2 are central to London, with the W3–W14 postcode districts radiating outwards to the west. The boundaries of the area and its numbered districts have changed over time and are the result of the working requirements of the Royal Mail. They are not tied to those of the local authority areas served; consequently a locality name might describe varying areas. W1 is almost entirely in the City of Westminster, with a small part in the London Borough of Camden. W2–W14 cover parts of the City Westminster, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, London Borough of Ealing, London Borough of Brent, London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham and London Borough of Hounslow.

Famous quotes containing the word boundaries:
“It is the story-tellers task to elicit sympathy and a measure of understanding for those who lie outside the boundaries of State approval.”
—Graham Greene (19041991)
“Not too many years ago, a childs experience was limited by how far he or she could ride a bicycle or by the physical boundaries that parents set. Today ... the real boundaries of a childs life are set more by the number of available cable channels and videotapes, by the simulated reality of videogames, by the number of megabytes of memory in the home computer. Now kids can go anywhere, as long as they stay inside the electronic bubble.”
—Richard Louv (20th century)
“Ideas are not thoughts; the thought respects the boundaries that the idea ignores thereby failing to realize itself.”
—Franz Grillparzer (17911872)
