Action
Anti-virus specialists agree that recipients should delete virus hoaxes when they receive them, instead of forwarding them.
McAfee says:
We are advising users who receive the email to delete it and DO NOT pass it on as this is how an email HOAX propagates.
F-Secure recommends:
Do not forward hoax messages.
Hoax warnings are typically scare alerts started by malicious people – and passed on by innocent individuals that think they are helping the community by spreading the warning.
Corporate users can get rid of the hoax problem by simply setting a strict company guideline: End users must not forward virus alarms. Ever. It's not the job of an end user anyway. If such message is received, end users could forward it to the IT department but not to anyone else.

Famous quotes containing the word action:
“Not rarely, and this is especially true of wives and mothers, the motive behind assuming a disproportionate share of work and responsibility is completely unselfish. We want to protect, to spare those of whom we are fond. We forget that, regardless of the motive, the results of such action are almost always destructive and unproductive.”
—Hortense Odlum (1892?)
“The highest proof of civility is that the whole public action of the State is directed on securing the greatest good of the greatest number.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
“Acts themselves alone are history.... Tell me the acts, O historian, and leave me to reason upon them as I please; away with your reasoning and your rubbish! All that is not action is not worth reading.”
—William Blake (17571827)
