Virginia State Route 241 - History

History

SR 241 appeared on its present route in the 1933 renumbering, following the former route of State Route 717, which itself appeared in 1930.

As of 2012, the Telegraph Road interchange with I-495 is undergoing a major reconstruction by VDOT as part of the larger Woodrow Wilson Bridge project. The purpose of the project is to alleviate roadway congestion by separating traffic exiting I-495 on to Huntington Avenue, Telegraph Road and North Kings Highway. The expected completion date for the project is mid-2013.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

If you look at the 150 years of modern China’s history since the Opium Wars, then you can’t avoid the conclusion that the last 15 years are the best 15 years in China’s modern history.
    J. Stapleton Roy (b. 1935)

As History stands, it is a sort of Chinese Play, without end and without lesson.
    Henry Brooks Adams (1838–1918)

When we of the so-called better classes are scared as men were never scared in history at material ugliness and hardship; when we put off marriage until our house can be artistic, and quake at the thought of having a child without a bank-account and doomed to manual labor, it is time for thinking men to protest against so unmanly and irreligious a state of opinion.
    William James (1842–1910)
