Voice Characteristics
Violetta Villas was a soprano whose voice had an extraordinary register and a very wide range of vocal color. It covered five octaves from the baritone middle E2 to the soprano E7. Villas' best range was from C4 to C6. In her songs she showed a remarkable ability for naturally assimilative styles and for eliciting a multiplicity of voices. Villas could perform as a baritone, tenor, contralto, mezzo-soprano, and as a soprano, a unique attribute amongst singers of any gender, in the fields of both classical and popular music.

Famous quotes containing the word voice:
“Living by basic good-mothering guidelines enables a mom to blend the responsibilities of parenthood with its joys; to know when to stand her ground and when to be flexible; and to absorb the lessons of the parenting gurus while also trusting her inner voice when it reasons that another cookie isnt worth fighting over, or that her child wont suffer irreparable trauma if, once in a while, Mom puts her own needs first.”
—Sue Woodman (20th century)
