Vincent Louis Promuto (born June 8, 1938 in New York, New York) is a former American football guard in the National Football League for the Washington Redskins from 1960 to 1970. Promuto played college football at the College of the Holy Cross and was then drafted by the Redskins in the fourth round in the 1960 NFL Draft. He played 130 games in his career, all with Washington. He was a Pro Bowl selection in 1963 and 1964. He is a member of the Washington Redskins Ring of Fame. True crime author Richard Esposito wrote in Dead on Delivery: Inside the drug wars, straight from the street said, "In 1974 Vince was given the position of the public affairs director for the DEA New York Office that earned him $29,000-a-year. This was despite his alleged ties to organized crime. Promuto allegedly maintained ties to professional gamblers and underworld hangers-on that he had formed during his days with the Washington Redskins. Among the allegations were that he interfered in a local police investigation of an illegal sports betting operation where he hung out, but the allegations never amounted to much".
