Name
Vida Blue got its name from the 1970s Major League Baseball pitcher Vida Blue. Blue himself joined the band on stage in 2004 at The Fillmore in San Francisco.
A screamo band from Iowa City, Iowa had been using the same name since 1999. The band subsequently changed their name to "Ten Grand," reportedly because they were paid $10,000.00 to relinquish rights to the name to McConnell.
