Victoria Nicole Abbott (née Newman; formerly McNeil, Howard, Carlton and Hellstrom) is a fictional character from the American CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless, portrayed by Amelia Heinle. She was born onscreen in 1982 as the first child and daughter of supercouple Victor Newman and Nikki Reed. The role was originally portrayed by Heather Tom for over a decade, who was universally acclaimed for her portrayal. After Tom's departure in 2003, the role was recast with Heinle, who assumed the role on March 21, 2005.

Victoria's initial history on the soap involved romances with Ryan McNeil (Scott Reeves) and Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck). A decade later, she became involved with Brad Carlton (Don Diamont) and later J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill). She is currently married to former playboy Billy Abbott (Billy Miller), which has also garnered a fan following. The character has a history of rough pregnancies and motherhood; suffering various miscarriages and having a stillborn child. Nonetheless, her son Reed Hellstrom was born in 2007, and she is also the legal mother of Johnny Abbott, born in 2012.

Famous quotes containing the words victoria and/or newman:

Sometimes my wife complains that she’s overwhelmed with work and just can’t take one of the kids, for example, to a piano lesson. I’ll offer to do it for her, and then she’ll say, “No, I’ll do it.” We have to negotiate how much I trespass into that mother role—it’s not given up easily.
—Anonymous Father. As quoted in Women and Their Fathers, by Victoria Secunda, ch. 3 (1992)

This is what the Church is said to want, not party men, but sensible, temperate, sober, well-judging persons, to guide it through the channel of no-meaning, between the Scylla and Charybdis of Aye and no.
    —Cardinal John Henry Newman (1801–1890)
