Vic Mackey - Internal Affairs

Internal Affairs

During the fifth season, Vic attempted to throw Internal Affairs Lieutenant Jon Kavanaugh from his game by sleeping with Kavanaugh's mentally-ill ex-wife.

In response, Kavanaugh's hatred of Mackey consumed and completely overwhelmed his conscience, leading him to begin breaking the law himself in destroy the man he regarded as, "pissing all over," the entire police department.

After a failed attempt to seek revenge against Vic Mackey by coming on to Corrine Mackey and alliance with Antwon Mitchell, Kavanaugh fabricated evidence, implicating Vic in the murder of Lemansky. When Dutch Wagenbach and Claudette Wyms exposed his actions, Kavanaugh was stripped of his badge and imprisoned. Soon after, Vic visited Kavanaugh in prison and gloated over his victory, but the disgraced Lieutenant remained unfazed.

Famous quotes containing the words internal and/or affairs:

We all run on two clocks. One is the outside clock, which ticks away our decades and brings us ceaselessly to the dry season. The other is the inside clock, where you are your own timekeeper and determine your own chronology, your own internal weather and your own rate of living. Sometimes the inner clock runs itself out long before the outer one, and you see a dead man going through the motions of living.
    Max Lerner (b. 1902)

Love has its name borrowed by a great number of dealings and affairs that are attributed to it—in which it has no greater part than the Doge in what is done at Venice.
François, Duc De La Rochefoucauld (1613–1680)
