Student Radio Station
WVTC, Vermont Tech's 300-watt radio station, was forced to suspend on operations in fall 2007 when their FCC license expired due to neglect. WVTC applied for, and was granted, Special Temporary Authority in October 2008 to operate while the license renewal process continues. The station also continues to broadcast online at http://www.wvtc.net.

Famous quotes containing the words student, radio and/or station:
“The student may read Homer or Æschylus in the Greek without danger of dissipation or luxuriousness, for it implies that he in some measure emulate their heroes, and consecrate morning hours to their pages.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“All radio is dead. Which means that these tape recordings Im making are for the sake of future history. If any.”

“[T]here is no situation so deplorable ... as that of a gentlewoman in real poverty.... Birth, family, and education become misfortunes when we cannot attain some means of supporting ourselves in the station they throw us into. Our friends and former acquaintances look on it as a disgrace to own us.... If we were to attempt getting our living by any trade, people in that station would think we were endeavoring to take their bread out of their mouths.”
—Sarah Fielding (17101768)
