Venezuelan Summer League

The Venezuelan Summer League is a minor league baseball rookie league which operates in Carabobo and Aragua states, Venezuela.

The VSL was created in 1997, after several operational years of the Major League Baseball's academies in the country. The VSL followed the Dominican Summer League as an alternative to improve the development of the young prospects in their early years in organized Baseball.

The league is closed to all draft eligible players (e.g. players from the United States, Canada, & Puerto Rico) with the exception of two players from Puerto Rico. Currently, there are players from Argentina, Colombia, CuraƧao, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Sint Maarten and Venezuela.

Each team has a roster limit of 35 active players; at least 10 must be pitchers. No player on active list may have more than four years of minor league service. No age limits.
