Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (TTC)
Vaughan Metropolitan Centre is a planned station of the Yonge–University–Spadina line of the subway system in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to be built on its western branch, the Spadina line. Construction has begun at Highway 7 and Millway Avenue, west of Jane Street. It is expected to open in 2016 when the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) will have finished building the extension of the line. The station and track will be aligned directly underneath Millway Avenue (now vacant land).
The station one of two planned stations that are outside the City of Toronto, specifically in the City of Vaughan, in York Region. It would also be the first terminus located outside the current City of Toronto.
The TTC has not decided how this will affect fare pricing; TTC bus riders are now required to pay extra fare when their bus crosses Steeles. However, it should be noted that in 1968, five subway stations opened inside the TTC's "fare 2" region at the time (Islington, Royal York, Old Mill, Victoria Park and Warden), yet no extra fare was required to reach those stations.
Geographically, this will be the northernmost station in the system, as well as the second westernmost after Kipling.

Famous quotes containing the words vaughan, metropolitan and/or centre:
“A ward, and still in bonds, one day
I stole abroad;
It was high spring, and all the way
Primrosed and hung with shade;
Yet was it frost within,
And surly winds
Blasted my infant buds, and sin
Like clouds eclipsed my mind.”
—Henry Vaughan (16221695)
“In metropolitan cases, the love of the most single-eyed lover, almost invariably, is nothing more than the ultimate settling of innumerable wandering glances upon some one specific object.”
—Herman Melville (18191891)
“Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,”
—William Butler Yeats (18651939)
