Overview
The three main streets in Vasant-Vihar are "Munirka Marg", Poorvi Marg and Paschimi Marg, literally Eastern and Western Street, that along Palam Marg form a rough triangle that encloses much of the neighbourhood. The neighbourhood is primarily residential and when first planned consisted of six blocks named A to F, with each block having its own local market. Houses located on Palam Marg consist of some of the most expensive real estate in the NCR region. Vasant vihar is the 16th most expensive residential area in the world.
The area nearby contains the residential colonies for employees of Air India, Reserve Bank Officers, Central Bureau of Investigation, Parliament. Reserve Bank of India has full fledged quarters for its senior officers - exactly opposite Air India colony in D block. The colony has 12 blocks from A to L with 90 three bed-room flats. At the edge of the neighbourhood, across the Outer Ring Road lies, the Uttara Swami Malai Temple on a small hillock. There is also a historic church located in Vasant Vihar, as well as some Mughal era monuments.
Houses here sell for hundreds of crores and property here is considered a status symbol.
