Confession To Orly Airport Attack

After the July 15, 1983 bombing of a Turkish Airlines check-in desk at Orly airport, Paris, the French police raided ASALA strongholds, confiscating arms and detaining 50 Armenians believed to have links to the ASALA. One of the arrested, Garabedian, confessed to being a leader of ASALA in France and planting the bomb at the Orly airport, which killed 8 people.

Famous quotes containing the words confession to, confession, airport and/or attack:

Emily, I’ve a little confession to make. I really am a horse doctor. But marry me, and I’ll never look at another horse.
Robert Pirosh, screenwriter, George Seaton, screenwriter, and George Oppenheimer, screenwriter. Sam Wood. Dr. Hackenbush (Groucho Marx)

The confession of our failings is a thankless office. It savours less of sincerity or modesty than of ostentation. It seems as if we thought our weaknesses as good as other people’s virtues.
    William Hazlitt (1778–1830)

Airplanes are invariably scheduled to depart at such times as 7:54, 9:21 or 11:37. This extreme specificity has the effect on the novice of instilling in him the twin beliefs that he will be arriving at 10:08, 1:43 or 4:22, and that he should get to the airport on time. These beliefs are not only erroneous but actually unhealthy.
    Fran Lebowitz (b. 1950)

I make this direct statement to the American people that there is far less chance of the United States getting into war, if we do all we can now to support the nations defending themselves against attack by the Axis than if we acquiesce in their defeat, submit tamely to an Axis victory, and wait our turn to be the object of attack in another war later on.
    Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882–1945)
