It is part of the Australasia ecozone, which includes neighboring New Caledonia and the Solomon Islands, as well as Australia, New Guinea, and New Zealand. The Vanuatu rain forests are a tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests ecoregion, also known as a tropical rainforest.
