Decommissioning
Shark was deactivated, in commission, and formally decommissioned and stricken from the Naval Vessel Register on 15 September 1990. She entered the Nuclear Powered Ship and Submarine Recycling Program in Bremerton, Washington, on 1 October 1995 and on 28 June 1996 ceased to exist.
