Awards
Salmon was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation for extraordinary heroism against enemy surface vessels during her eleventh war patrol in restricted, enemy-held waters of the Pacific. Salmon earned nine battle stars for World War II service in the Asiatic-Pacific area.
