USS Dyer (DD–84) was a Wickes-class destroyer in the United States Navy during the World War I. She was named for Nehemiah Mayo Dyer.
Dyer was launched 13 April 1918 by the Fore River Shipbuilding Company, Quincy, Massachusetts, sponsored by Miss Virginia Blackmur, and commissioned 1 July 1918, Commander F. H. Poteet in command.
