Anomalies of the urea cycle cause urea cycle disorders:
- ornithine transcarbamoylase deficiency
- Carbamoyl phosphate synthetase deficiency
- Argininosuccinic aciduria
- Argininemia
- Hyperornithinemia, hyperammonemia, homocitrullinuria syndrome (HHH syndrome, ornithine translocase deficiency)
- Lysinuric protein intolerance
- Citrullinemia
- N-Acetylglutamate synthase deficiency
Most of them are associated with hyperammonemia.
