Urburschenschaft

The Urburschenschaft (German: Original student fraternity) was the first Burschenschaft, a special type of German Studentenverbindung (student fraternity). Burschenschaften were founded in the early 19th century as associations of university students inspired by liberal and nationalistic ideas.
