Athletics
The University is represented by its team the Victoria Vikes, more commonly known as the UVic Vikes or simply the Vikes. Vikes teams participate in the Canada West Universities Athletic Association (CWUAA) (the western division of Canadian Interuniversity Sport ) and in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Basketball games are played in the 2,500 seat, McKinnon Gymasium. The facility was built in 1975.
The University currently has both men's and women's teams in each of the following sports:

- Field Hockey
- Golf
- Rowing
- Rugby
- Soccer
- Swimming
