Education Network
The Education Network is the name given to the Course Rep system. Jointly 'owned' by the University and the Students' Union. The Network is chaired by the Education Officer. There are 5 Undergraduate Faculty Coordinators and 5 Postgraduate Faculty Reps (both elected in cross campus elections). Undergraduate Faculty Coordinator positions are to be removed for the 2012/13 session. There are then School Reps for each School/Department and finally Course Reps (currently around 1000).

Famous quotes containing the words education and/or network:
“The principle goal of education in the schools should be creating men and women who are capable of doing new things, not simply repeating what other generations have done; men and women who are creative, inventive and discoverers, who can be critical and verify, and not accept, everything they are offered.”
—Jean Piaget (18961980)
“A culture may be conceived as a network of beliefs and purposes in which any string in the net pulls and is pulled by the others, thus perpetually changing the configuration of the whole. If the cultural element called morals takes on a new shape, we must ask what other strings have pulled it out of line. It cannot be one solitary string, nor even the strings nearby, for the network is three-dimensional at least.”
—Jacques Barzun (b. 1907)
