Public Service
UMMS is extending its mission of public service through its Commonwealth Medicine initiative. Commonwealth Medicine provides partnership opportunities for state and local agencies to increase the value and quality of publicly funded health expenditures and to improve access and delivery of care to at-risk and uninsured patients. With Commonwealth Medicine public agencies can leverage the academic, research, management and clinical resources of UMMS for maximum effectiveness.

Famous quotes containing the words public and/or service:
“Ill sing you a new ballad, and Ill warrant it first-rate,
Of the days of that old gentleman who had that old estate;
When they spent the public money at a bountiful old rate
On evry mistress, pimp, and scamp, at evry noble gate,
In the fine old English Tory times;”
—Charles Dickens (18121890)
“Night City was like a deranged experiment in Social Darwinism, designed by a bored researcher who kept one thumb permanently on the fast-forward button. Stop hustling and you sank without a trace, but move a little too swiftly and youd break the fragile surface tension of the black market; either way, you were gone ... though heart or lungs or kidneys might survive in the service of some stranger with New Yen for the clinic tanks.”
—William Gibson (b. 1948)
