The university’s libraries (with 1,400 work places) contain over half a million books, journals and audio-visual materials and, additionally, have subscriptions to around 8,000 electronic journals. In a year, there are around one million loans – and, on an average day, over 6000 student visits. Combined, the university’s libraries are open for 250 hours per week, with each library typically open between 55 and 68 hours per week, including evenings and weekends. The university has six libraries spread around its campuses.
