Member Hospitals
Princess Margaret Hospital contains the largest oncology research and treatment facility in Canada. It is home to the Ontario Cancer Institute and the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation. In 1998, the hospital relocated to a new site south of Queen's Park on University Avenue.
Toronto General Hospital is the largest member hospital in the organization, located on University Avenue directly across from Princess Margaret Hospital. Its research arm is the Toronto General Research Institute. Toronto General is a major centre for cardiac care, and home to a substantial organ transplant program. Its surgeons conducted the world's first double-lung transplant in 1986.
Toronto Western Hospital is located on Bathurst Street, a short bus ride from the other two hospitals. Research is conducted at the Toronto Western Research Institute. Fundraising is carried out jointly with Toronto General, by the Toronto General and Western Hospital Foundation.
On July 1, 2011, the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute became a part of the University Health Network.
Also part of organization is the Wellesley Toronto Arthritis & Immune Disorder Research Centre, funded by the Arthritis & Autoimmunity Research Centre Foundation.

Famous quotes containing the words member and/or hospitals:
“If you attack the establishment long enough and hard enough, they will make you a member of it.”
—Art Buchwald (b. 1925)
“... women can never do efficient and general service in hospitals until their dress is prescribed by laws inexorable as those of the Medes and Persians. Then, that dress should be entirely destitute of steel, starch, whale-bone, flounces, and ornaments of all descriptions; should rest on the shoulders, have a skirt from the waist to the ankle, and a waist which leaves room for breathing.”
—Jane Grey Swisshelm (18151884)
