Universal Blues is the debut album by Chicago-based rock band The Redwalls, released in the United States on November 18, 2003 through Undertow Music. In 2007, the band re-released Universal Blues on Princeton Lane Records with six bonus tracks from early band demos. These original demos launched a major label bidding war over the band, which eventually landed the group on Capitol Records.

Famous quotes containing the words universal and/or blues:
“The universal principle of etymology in all languages: words are carried over from bodies and from the properties of bodies to express the things of the mind and spirit. The order of ideas must follow the order of things.”
—Giambattista Vico (1688–1744)
“Holly Golightly: You know those days when you’ve got the mean reds?
Paul: The mean reds? You mean like the blues?
Holly Golightly: No, the blues are because you’re getting fat or maybe it’s been raining too long. You’re just sad, that’s all. The mean reds are horrible. Suddenly you’re afraid and you don’t know what you’re afraid of.”
—George Axelrod (b. 1922)
