Universal Blues

Universal Blues is the debut album by Chicago-based rock band The Redwalls, released in the United States on November 18, 2003 through Undertow Music. In 2007, the band re-released Universal Blues on Princeton Lane Records with six bonus tracks from early band demos. These original demos launched a major label bidding war over the band, which eventually landed the group on Capitol Records.

Famous quotes containing the words universal and/or blues:

Not so many years ago there there was no simpler or more intelligible notion than that of going on a journey. Travel—movement through space—provided the universal metaphor for change.... One of the subtle confusions—perhaps one of the secret terrors—of modern life is that we have lost this refuge. No longer do we move through space as we once did.
    Daniel J. Boorstin (b. 1914)

The blues women had a commanding presence and a refreshing robustness. They were nurturers, taking the yeast of experience, kneading it into dough, molding it and letting it grow in their minds to bring the listener bread for sustenance, shaped by their sensibilities.
Rosetta Reitz, U.S. author. As quoted in The Political Palate, ch. 10, by Betsey Beaven et al. (1980)
