United States Congressional Delegations From Arizona

United States Congressional Delegations From Arizona

These are complete tables of congressional delegations from Arizona to the United States Senate and United States House of Representatives.

Due to Arizona's explosive growth since it joined the Union in 1912, the state has undergone too much demographic change for some districts to be seen as a continuation of the same numbered district before reapportionment. For instance, Trent Franks has represented the 2nd District since 2003 and will represent the 8th District starting in 2013, but is considered the successor of Bob Stump because his district contains most of the territory Stump represented in the 3rd District prior to 2003.

Famous quotes containing the words united states, united, states and/or arizona:

The real charm of the United States is that it is the only comic country ever heard of.
    —H.L. (Henry Lewis)

Of all the nations in the world, the United States was built in nobody’s image. It was the land of the unexpected, of unbounded hope, of ideals, of quest for an unknown perfection. It is all the more unfitting that we should offer ourselves in images. And all the more fitting that the images which we make wittingly or unwittingly to sell America to the world should come back to haunt and curse us.
    Daniel J. Boorstin (b. 1914)

The government of the United States is a device for maintaining in perpetuity the rights of the people, with the ultimate extinction of all privileged classes.
    Calvin Coolidge (1872–1933)

Desert rains are usually so definitely demarked that the story of the man who washed his hands in the edge of an Arizona thunder shower without wetting his cuffs seems almost credible.
—Administration in the State of Ariz, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)
