Organization
The Office is organized into divisions handling civil, criminal, and appellate matters, in addition to the Special Prosecutions Division, which oversees political corruption investigations. The District of New Jersey is also divided into three vicinages: Newark, Trenton and Camden, with the southern two offices supervised by a deputy U.S. Attorney. The office employs approximately 135 Assistant U.S. Attorneys. It is the fifth-largest U.S. Attorney's Office in the nation, below those in the District of Columbia, Los Angeles, Manhattan, and Miami.

Famous quotes containing the word organization:
“The art of government is the organization of idolatry. The bureaucracy consists of functionaries; the aristocracy, of idols; the democracy, of idolaters. The populace cannot understand the bureaucracy: it can only worship the national idols.”
—George Bernard Shaw (18561950)
“Prostitution is the most hideous of the afflictions produced by the unequal distribution of the worlds goods; this infamy stigmatizes the human species and bears witness against the social organization far more than does crime.”
—Flora Tristan (18031844)
“Unless a group of workers know their work is under surveillance, that they are being rated as fairly as human beings, with the fallibility that goes with human judgment, can rate them, and that at least an attempt is made to measure their worth to an organization in relative terms, they are likely to sink back on length of service as the sole reason for retention and promotion.”
—Mary Barnett Gilson (1877?)
