Famous quotes containing the words union, iron and/or works:

Should the German people lay down their arms, the Soviets ... would occupy all eastern and south-eastern Europe together with the greater part of the Reich. Over all this territory, which with the Soviet Union included, would be of enormous extent, an iron curtain would at once descend.
    Joseph Goebbels (1897–1945)

Should there be maniacs who raise the idea, they will encounter an iron fist which will leave no trace of such attempts.
    Yitzhak Shamir (b. 1915)

Do not worry about the incarnation of ideas. If you are a poet, your works will contain them without your knowledge—they will be both moral and national if you follow your inspiration freely.
    Vissarion Belinsky (1810–1848)
