Ultima GTR - Platform

Platform

Maxximus Technologies, Inc.'s Maxximus G-Force, recognized on October 7, 2008 by the World Records Academy as the world's fastest street-legal car, also used the Ultima GTR as its platform. There is very little mention of this on the Maxximus website. They claim to have designed this car from scratch.

Another car, the Stealth B6 is also apparently based around the Ultima. Supercarworld states "The Stealth was based on the Ultima Sports but with modified suspension and even more aggressive, if not tasteful, bodywork." However the website for Stealth Cars Ltd. states that the car was designed by engineer Bob Light, and no mention is made of Ultima.

Famous quotes containing the word platform:

I marched in with the men afoot; a gallant show they made as they marched up High Street to the depot. Lucy and Mother Webb remained several hours until we left. I saw them watching me as I stood on the platform at the rear of the last car as long as they could see me. Their eyes swam. I kept my emotion under control enough not to melt into tears.
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)

Across Parker Avenue from the fort is the Site of the Old Gallows, where 83 men “stood on nothin’, a-lookin’ up a rope.” The platform had a trap wide enought to “accommodate” 12 men, but half that number was the highest ever reached. On two occasions six miscreants were executed. There were several groups of five, some quartets and trios.
—Administration in the State of Arka, U.S. public relief program. Arkansas: A Guide to the State (The WPA Guide to Arkansas)

It was a favor for which to be forever silent to be shown this vision. The earth beneath had become such a flitting thing of lights and shadows as the clouds had been before. It was not merely veiled to me, but it had passed away like the phantom of a shadow, skias onar, and this new platform was gained. As I had climbed above storm and cloud, so by successive days’ journeys I might reach the region of eternal day, beyond the tapering shadow of the earth.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
