Ulrika Jonsson - Autobiography and John Leslie Scandal

Autobiography and John Leslie Scandal

Jonsson wrote in her autobiography that an unnamed television presenter had sexually assaulted her earlier in her television career. Matthew Wright named (apparently accidentally) John Leslie as the alleged perpetrator on his television show The Wright Stuff. Jonsson made no public comment on Leslie's naming and did not cooperate with police over the matter. Police investigated Leslie but never charged him regarding the case.

Famous quotes containing the words autobiography and, john and/or scandal:

    I write fiction and I’m told it’s autobiography, I write autobiography and I’m told it’s fiction, so since I’m so dim and they’re so smart, let them decide what it is or it isn’t.
    Philip Roth (b. 1933)

    I got it: Man Without Head Kills Rich Jeweler. What an eight- column spread that’d be on the front page. Why that’s the greatest story since Lindbergh flew to Paris. Oh boy, if only it was true.
    P. J. Wolfson, John L. Balderston (1899–1954)

    We must cultivate our garden.
    Furia to God one day in seven allots;
    The other six to scandal she devotes.
    Satan, by false devotion never flammed,
    Bets six to one, that Furia will be damned.
    Horace Walpole (1717–1797)
