Drum Equipment
Stewart currently plays Pearl drum kits and Sabian cymbals. He uses Regal Tip drumsticks (mainly Groovers) and Regal Tip Blasticks for brushes. He also has his own signature sticks made by Regal Tip which he designed with his drum tech, Rob "Tiny" Menegoni. The sticks are called Ty-phoons (a second, "dipped" version of which was released in the mid-2000s). He also uses a Roland SPD-S sampling multi-trigger pad for parts on "One Week" from the Barenaked Ladies album "Stunt".
Prior to his switch to Pearl in mid-2006, Stewart used custom Ayotte drums from at least 1994, if not prior.

Famous quotes containing the words drum and/or equipment:
“It has been an unchallengeable American doctrine that cranberry sauce, a pink goo with overtones of sugared tomatoes, is a delectable necessity of the Thanksgiving board and that turkey is uneatable without it.... There are some things in every country that you must be born to endure; and another hundred years of general satisfaction with Americans and America could not reconcile this expatriate to cranberry sauce, peanut butter, and drum majorettes.”
—Alistair Cooke (b. 1908)
“At the heart of the educational process lies the child. No advances in policy, no acquisition of new equipment have their desired effect unless they are in harmony with the child, unless they are fundamentally acceptable to him.”
—Central Advisory Council for Education. Children and Their Primary Schools (Plowden Report)
