Tule Fog - Freezing Drizzle and Black Ice

Freezing Drizzle and Black Ice

Tule fog events are often accompanied by drizzle and freezing drizzle. Famous quotes containing the words freezing, drizzle, black and/or ice:

    Behold, a silly, tender babe
    In freezing winter night,
    In homely manger trembling lies:
    Alas, a piteous sight.
    Robert Southwell (1561?–1595)

It all began so beautifully. After a drizzle in the morning, the sun came out bright and clear. We were driving into Dallas. In the lead car were President and Mrs. Kennedy.
    Lady Bird Johnson (b. 1912)

Never ‘eld with mournin’ meself. I always say, life’s black enough as it is without dressin’ in it, too.
    Philip Dunne (1908–1992)

A young person is a person with nothing to learn
One who already knows that ice does not chill and fire does not burn . . .
It knows it can spend six hours in the sun on its first
day at the beach without ending up a skinless beet,
And it knows it can walk barefoot through the barn
without running a nail in its feet. . . .
    Meanwhile psychologists grow rich
Writing that the young are ones’ should not
    undermine the self-confidence of which.
    Ogden Nash (1902–1971)
