"Tribal Dance" is the title of a song recorded by Dutch eurodance group 2 Unlimited. It was released in April 1993 as the second single from their second album, No Limits.
The song peaked at number 4 in the United Kingdom for 2 weeks and spent a total of 11 weeks on the chart. The song reached number 7 on the US dance chart. The track featured a trumpet riff and different kinds of drums throughout the song and the accompanying video was set in the jungle using blue screen in order to create the appearance of members of the band swinging across a jungle backdrop. A picture-in-picture screen showing a video game was also used. The "say that again" lyric at the start of the track was sampled from the film Back to the Future. The song is also featured in the 2006 film Final Destination 3.
Famous quotes containing the words tribal and/or dance:
“Totem poles and wooden masks no longer suggest tribal villages but fashionable drawing rooms in New York and Paris.”
—Mason Cooley (b. 1927)
“I can get dressed earlier in the evening with every intention of going to a dance at midnight, but somehow after the theatre the thing to do seems to be either to go to bed or sit around somewhere. It doesnt seem possible that somewhere people can be expecting you at an hour like that.”
—Robert Benchley (18891945)
