Trent Barton

trent barton is an independent bus company in the United Kingdom. It was formed as the result of merging Derbyshire's Trent Buses with all of the bus operations of Nottinghamshire's Barton Transport. Two Wellglade subsidiaries, Trent Motor Traction Company Ltd and Barton Buses Ltd, now combine their day-to-day operations in the one entity.

trent barton claim every single bus in the fleet is now low floor (not including coach services such as red arrow and club class), although occasionally a bus primarily used at sister company Notts and Derby may stray onto a trent barton route, especially during university vacation periods, when large numbers of buses used on the unibus services are idle however if a bus is not low floor it runs for free. It operates services from Loughborough, Ashbourne, Burton upon Trent, Chesterfield, Derby, Ilkeston, Mansfield, and Nottingham.

trent barton employ the phrase 'the really good bus company' in their advertising, and drivers are employed on single routes, rather than being regularly moved across different services. This allows some drivers to build a relationship with clients, to the extent that drivers have been invited to passengers' weddings.
