Tom Osborne

Thomas William "Tom" Osborne (born February 23, 1937) was one of the most successful and highly regarded coaches in college football history, due to his tenure as head coach of the University of Nebraska football team. He also was a member of Congress and is currently the Athletic Director at Nebraska. On September 26, 2012, he announced that he would retire as Athletic Director effective January 1, 2013.

He was the head coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team for 25 years from (1973 to 1997), succeeding Bob Devaney. After coaching, Osborne was elected to Congress in 2000 and served six years in the U.S. House as a Republican from Nebraska's 3rd district.
