Famous quotes containing the words tobacco, factory and/or theatre:
“No matter what Aristotle and the Philosophers say, nothing is equal to tobacco; its the passion of the well-bred, and he who lives without tobacco lives a life not worth living.”
—Molière [Jean Baptiste Poquelin] (16221673)
“The factory was very fine;
He wished it all the modern speed.
Yet, after all, twas not divine,
That is to say, twas not a church.”
—Robert Frost (18741963)
“Glorious bouquets and storms of applause ... are the trimmings which every artist naturally enjoys. But to move an audience in such a role, to hear in the applause that unmistakable note which breaks through good theatre manners and comes from the heart, is to feel that you have won through to life itself. Such pleasure does not vanish with the fall of the curtain, but becomes part of ones own life.”
—Dame Alice Markova (b. 1910)
