A counter flow heat exchanger is generally 100% efficient in transferring heat energy from one circuit to the other, albeit at a slight loss in temperature. However, for a more complete picture of heat exchanger efficiency, exergetic considerations must be taken into account.

Famous quotes containing the words energy, efficiency and/or heat:
“I rather think the cinema will die. Look at the energy being exerted to revive ityesterday it was color, today three dimensions. I dont give it forty years more. Witness the decline of conversation. Only the Irish have remained incomparable conversationalists, maybe because technical progress has passed them by.”
—Orson Welles (19151984)
“Nothing comes to pass in nature, which can be set down to a flaw therein; for nature is always the same and everywhere one and the same in her efficiency and power of action; that is, natures laws and ordinances whereby all things come to pass and change from one form to another, are everywhere and always; so that there should be one and the same method of understanding the nature of all things whatsoever, namely, through natures universal laws and rules.”
—Baruch (Benedict)
“I remember my youth and the feeling that will never come back any morethe feeling that I could last for ever, outlast the sea, the earth, and all men; the deceitful feeling that lures us on to joys, to perils, to love, to vain effortto death; the triumphant conviction of strength, the heat of life in the handful of dust, the glow in the heart that with every year grows dim, grows cold, grows small, and expiresand expires, too soon, too soonbefore life itself.”
—Joseph Conrad (18571924)
